What is included in my rent living at Dad's place?
You can expect daily delicious homecooked meals and baked goods which are all
included in your monthly rent! Snacks are always available also and if you wish
lunches can be packed for you to take on your adventures! Soft drinks are also
included in your rent.
Daily housekeeping is provided for you and also daily wash and fold laundry service is
all included in your rent as you have better things to do!
Basic secretary duties is included in your rent such as keeping track of your
appointments for you, making reservations, delivering and sending mail, personal
shopping service for gifts or other items, daily delivery of newspaper, prescription
delivery, etc.
Our cheerful staff is here to assist you with basic tasks as much as they can to free up
your day so you can focus on the things you want to do! They are also here to assist
you with local area attractions and events.
Your utilities, electric, heat, water, garbage removal, cable tv's and wireless internet
are included in your rent and there is a flat screen tv in each bedroom as well as 2
large flat screens in the living room. Phone service is NOT provided in your rent and
you are responsible for your own cell phone service expense.
Dad's Place is new and fully furnished with very comfortable furnishings and Serta
Perfect Sleeper bedding. Bedding and linens are top quality and also provided for your
use in your rent. Each bedroom sleeps two gentlemen and Dad's Place has a
maximum of 4 occupants at any time.
Your rent includes all maintenance in your residence so you can consider maintaining
a house or an apartment a thing of the past!
A kind and compassionate staff is included in your rent to provide you with assistance
as needed. Our goal is to make your life as easy as possible so you can remain
healthy, independent and active in your senior years.
Questions and Answers about life at Dad's Place!
Is there parking for my car at Dad's Place?
Of course! Each resident has a space to park a car or truck.
There is also a local taxi cab service as well as other forms of public transportation
available. If you are moving here from neighboring states you may find the cost of
insurance is lower.
Is there extra storage space available if I need it?
Yes, we have 4 available 7x4 climate control storage areas at an additional rate of
30.00 a month should a resident desire one. They are perfect to store fishing and
hunting gear!
Is there outside parking for a boat, canoe or kayak?
Yes there is!
Are there views from Dad's Place of nature?
Yes there is! Dad's Place is on the second floor of a newer ( 2004) well built building
and the residence is nestled in the tree tops providing views from every window of
nature and local wild life! As we are located on a private 10 acre property the
residence is off the main road away from the sounds of traffic and town. Besides our 2
horses and chickens we have our resident deer, an occasional black bear, and
numerous other wild critters who visit daily.
Is smoking permitted at Dad's Place?
No, we do not permit smoking in the residence however there is an outside smoking
area as well as the campfire area.
Are there local doctors and pharmacies in town?
Yes, there are several local doctors and dentists, 3 pharmacies, 2 labs, and the
advanced life support unit is a block away and the town ambulance/fire dept. is 4
blocks away. There is also 2 in- patient and 1 outpatient physical rehab centers in
town as well as a dialysis center. Our town is serviced by the two nearest hospitals,
Bon Secour in Port Jervis NY about 15 minutes from the residence and Newton
Memorial in NJ about 25 minutes away and there is The Milford Urgent Care center 5
blocks away. We are about 75 miles from NYC and public transportation runs to the
city daily from town.
Is there a long term lease at Dad's Place?
No, you will have a standard 30 day renewable lease agreement with 30 days notice
required to move. We understand life changes quickly so we do not require a long term
commitment or buy in here like you would have in other types of housing or facilities.
You must be physically and mentally able and ambulatory, and be independent at
Dad's Place and should your health ever deteriorate to the point you cannot remain a
resident here we can help you and your family locate a home more suitable to your
needs so your long term health care needs can be met. We are not an assisted living
or a long term care facility and we cannot provide medical care. We do require a
1000.00 security deposit which will be returned to you within 2 weeks of moving from
Dad's Place. Your rental agreement will outline the terms of your lease clearly and we
will be happy to answers your questions during your tour also!
What are the benefits I will gain from Living at Dad's Place?
Peace of mind that your main housing expenses will be now one fixed amount. You will
no longer have to worry about unexpected expenses related to your housing such as
increasing taxes, utilities or maintenance issues, etc.. Dad's Place has a stand by
generator as well as other back up systems and supplies so you will have peace of
mind that your residence is safe whether you are here or traveling at a time when
storms hit. You will have peace of mind with companionship at Dad's Place and the
security that comes knowing there are others close by. You will be able to enjoy all the
outdoor activities you love close to your door now and a staff to take care of your
residence so you now have the freedom to do the things you enjoy! You can now
travel freely without worry about what is going on with your home as there is staff to
take care of everything for you when you are away. No more standing in long lines to
buy food, stamps, gifts, prescriptions, etc., you have more important fun things to do!
